Texas Clubs Lend a Helping Hand at Lake Kyle
Marcos DeJesus reported that close to 80 tons of gravel were laid in the lake bed, which is part of a bigger plan to provide a diversified quality fishing experience for anglers at Lake Kyle. Lake Kyle benefited from license plate funds for the gravel habitat and portion of the purchase of automated fish feeders, yet to be installed at the lake. All components of the infrastructure have been made available through partnerships between Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD), City of Kyle, PARD and several groups and volunteers. "We have been blessed with contributions from the Austin Fly Fishers (a Friends of Reservoirs Chapter), the Central Texas Fly Fishers from San Marcos and the Alamo Fly Fishers from San Antonio. The City of Kyle and TPWD are grateful for these investments," said DeJesus.
North Eastern Council Launches Web Forum
The new North Eastern Council (NEC) web forum was launched in mid October. The forum has been created to be a resource for all fly fisherman in the Northeast and Canada regardless if they are a member of the IFFF. We are urging all to join in an effort to be the resource that all fly fishermen and women look first when they are tackling our salt and fresh waters. We hope that they will find the content valuable and will share with others their area information and experiences.
The NEC logo was designed to denote the all waters and all fish focus of the IFFF. We are asking that they make their fly fishing friends and other fly fishing organization in their areas aware of our site and ask them to join and share as well.
By establishing this community resource the NEC hopes that individuals and clubs elect to become associated with the IFFF. You can reach the new forum by going to the following:

Dr. Rick Williams, Senior Conservation Adviser and Leah Elwell, former IFFF Conservation Coordinator, were instrumental in writing the policy and encouraging IFFF leadership to adopt it. You can read the policy on the
