What is the Fly Casting Skills Development Program?

Fly Casting Skills Development (FCSD) is a fun way to improve casting skills for all fly fishers in a self-paced fashion. FCSD is an expanded and redesigned version of the Fly Casting Skills Challenge. There are now four levels from beginner to advanced: Foundation, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Below facilitators and anglers will find the links to all the information needed for achieving and confirming achievement at each level. The casting videos found in the Fly Casting Video Library teach many of the skills required to advance through the FCSD. Skills Development Library

The Fly Casting Skills Development program is effective immediately, but to honor those that have already been preparing for the Fly Casting Skills Challenge (FCSC) Bronze, Silver or Gold levels FFI will honor FCSC completed scoresheets until June 1, 2022 to obtain recognition. After that date, only FCSD Confirmation Forms will be honored. Those anglers wishing to crossover to the new FCSD may do so at any time without repeating already achieved FCSC levels.
