FFi Women Connect
Photo Contest

Enriching women’s experiences on the water
through learning, sharing, and inspiration

FFi Women Connect and partcipating FFI regional councils are hosting a flyfishing photo contest to celebrate women anglers for June, FFi Women Connect Fly Fishing month.

Women who have paid the entry fee and who are the subject of the photo are eligible to enter. The subject of all photos should include women or a fish caught or fly used by the woman entering the contest. The photographer can be a man or a woman, but the subject and the person entering the contest must include a woman. For example, if you are woman and your guide or fishing buddy (male or female) takes the photo, then you are welcome to submit the photo as your entry, since you are the subject of the photo. If you submit the photo and it wasn’t taken by you, photo credit should be given to whomever took the photo in your submission. As the contestant who paid the entry fees, however, you will be eligible to receive a prize if you win in your category.

You do not need to be an FFI member to partcipate in this contest.

Meet One of Our Judges - Brian O'Keefe

Photograher Brian O’Keefe who is offering a Complimentary Photography Seminar to all participants of our Women’s Fly Fishing Photography Contest.

In his words, “I have combined a lifetime of fly fishing photography with a lot of serious fly fishing. I published my first fly fishing photo when I was 16. That was 52 years ago! In that time, I have been very busy trying to fish and photograph as many interesting places as possible. My angling travels have taken me to distant destinations like Cuba, Tonga, Bikini Atoll, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Kashmir, England, Brazil, Nicaragua and many more.

As much as I enjoy trips to the Bahamas, Belize, the Yucatan, etc, I am just as much a home water fisherman. I moved to Bend, Oregon in 1975 and guided on the Deschutes, North Umpqua and Klamath in California through the late 70’s. I have been fortunate to live on steelhead rivers, bass lakes, plus trout streams like the Metolius River. Currently, I live in Eastern Idaho, near the South Fork of the Snake River, the Teton River and the Henry’s Fork. Fly fishing is a great lifestyle! I have enjoyed a good working relationship with many fly fishing magazines, newspapers and tackle catalogs, books, websites and seven years as co-owner of Catch Magazine. I have a website at www.brianokeefephotography.com. I look forward to seeing everyone’s photos.
