FFI Announces George Daniel as FlyFest Headline Presenter

Redding, California — Fly Fishers International (FFI) is proud to announce that internationally recognized fly fishing author, educator, and competitor George Daniel will join FlyFest 2026 as a Headline Presenter.
Hosted by Fly Fishers International and presented in partnership with The Fly Shop, FlyFest 2026 will take place Sept. 24-26, 2026, at the Redding Civic Auditorium in Redding, California. This event will bring together fly anglers from across North America for three days of education, inspiration, conservation, and community. George Daniel’s participation further strengthens what is shaping up to be one of the most exciting educational fly fishing gatherings in recent years.
Widely regarded as one of the most influential fly fishing instructors in the world today, Daniel is known for his ability to bridge advanced technical concepts with approachable, highly practical teaching. His presentations consistently draw anglers of all skill levels eager to improve their understanding of modern fly fishing tactics.

Daniel currently serves as Director and Lead Instructor of the Joe Humphreys Fly Fishing Program at Penn State University, continuing one of the most respected educational legacies in fly fishing. A two-time U.S. National Fly Fishing Champion, Daniel has represented Fly Fishing Team USA at multiple World Fly Fishing Championships, earning one of the highest finishes ever achieved by a North American competitor. In addition to his competition career, he has coached both youth and adult competitive fly fishing teams while mentoring countless anglers through schools, guide trips, seminars, and workshops.
Daniel is also the author of several highly respected books including Dynamic Nymphing, Strip-Set, Nymph Fishing, and Tactical Fly Fishing. His writing and instructional work have helped shape modern trout fishing techniques for anglers around the world.
At FlyFest 2026, attendees can expect keynote presentations, seminars, casting and tactical instruction, demonstrations, and opportunities for direct interaction throughout the event.
