I began fly fishing in the late 60's but didn't get serious about it until the mid 70's.  I used some pretty poor equipment in those early days.  I did most of my learning through trial and error and a bit of reading.  Looking back, I sure wish I had taken a lesson or two; it would have saved me a lot of time and frustration.

I am really glad to be a CCI so I can help newcomers avoid most of the frustrations I encountered, and I also enjoy helping more experienced casters cure their problems.  I also spend quite a bit of time in public schools and with the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department's "Let's Go Fishing" program.  

The more people I can get interested in fly fishing, the better it will be for the fish and us all.
