My name is Clive Mitchelhill, I am a fully insured and full time, fly casting and fly fishing instructor, and guide, living in Carlisle in the UK where I was born and raised. I started fishing when I was eight and have been hooked ever since, an experience that I have thoroughly enjoyed for some forty plus years. I have been very lucky to have lived on the doorstep of some fantastic spate rivers such as the Eden, the Border Esk, and the North and South Tyne, to name but a few. II have also fished on several well known rivers in Scotland, such as the Tay, the Spey, and the Tweed, and several rivers in Ireland, Iceland and Norway, where I have had the good fortune to have caught many Salmon and Sea trout over the years, not forgetting some fantastic Grayling and Brown trout too. I have the good fortune to be a stones throw away from Cumbria's lake district, which offers many fishing opportunities in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. My first qualification many years ago was the Salmon and Trout Association National instructors Certificate and from there I have proudly progressed on to hold all of the Association of Advanced Professional Game Angling Instructors, and The Federation of Fly Fishers, Masters casting qualifications. I am currently the membership secretary for AAPGAI and for many years now I have been part of the associations demonstration and assessment team. I run my own business under the name of Border Game Angling, delivering various courses and tuition packages to anglers of all abilities, both at home and abroad. This is where my passion lies, and to be able to bring more people into angling, or simply improve peoples existing skills and knowledge, is a great bonus for me, I cannot think of anything more rewarding than this.
