Steve Hall grew up fly fishing in Colorado and throughout the West. He graduated with a B.S. degree in Wildlife Biology from Colorado State Univ. in 1981. He worked for the Colorado Division of Wildlife (Denver Metro fisheries crew) and American Sportsman's Club (CO Services Mgr) prior to moving to Texas in 1985 to work for Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept. He retired from there after 26 years of service, most of those as Education Director. He served as manager over mandatory Hunter and Boater Education and also implemented Aquatic/Angler Education, Hooked on Fishing--Not on Drugs (HOF), Becoming An Outdoors-Woman (BOW), Parrie Haynes Youth Ranch, 4-H Shooting Sports and Sport Fishing partnerships, and Archery in Schools program among other Outreach and Education programs. He assisted in the development of and served on the program committee at all Texas Wildlife Expos hosted by the agency for 18 years. He was certified in the National Fishing in Schools Program in 2010. He has served as president and vice president of the International Hunter Education Association, and as national adviser to HOF and BOW, and has served on the boards of the National Bowhunter Education Foundation (12 yrs.) and Austin Woods and Waters. He was executive director for Texas State Rifle Association for two years and is currently the executive director of the International Hunter Education Association-USA since March 2013. He is married to wife, Karen and they have a son, Ryan, and daughter, Sarah. He loves to fly fish, bow hunt, and shoot shotguns; but, mostly he is all about teaching young people about the outdoors, conservation and wildlife.
