Are you a member or leader of a current club and would like to connect with others in your position? The programs we have planned will provide you the opportunity to learn information we have gathered from other club and council leaders as well as share what you have learned.

FFI Council leaders will be presenting information what makes a successful club, social media, FFI Resources, and more!  These are proven strategies that have been shared by other clubs and councils.  It will be an interactive day. 

Workshop 1: Successful Club Practices

Objective: Establish a common understanding of member engagement and why it is the foundation of club success.

Key Topics

· Defining member engagement: participation, connection, and purpose

· The types of member engagement activities that promote success

· Exploring and discussing your clubs activities that promote member engagement

Outcome

· Shared understanding of how engaged members contribute to club sustainability

Workshop 2: Membership Recruitment, Retention, Leadership Development and Succession Planning

Objective: Design intentional systems that keep members connected, involved, and valued.

Key Topics

· Creating frequent and meaningful member interactions

· Developing volunteer and leadership pathways

· New member welcoming and onboarding practices

· Personal outreach and mentoring programs

Outcome

· Draft framework for a club-specific engagement strategy

Workshop 3: Social Media That Facilitates Membership Engagement

Objective: Develop communication practices that increase participation and strengthen member connections.

Key Topics

· Creating effective newsletters, websites, and social media programs

· Maintaining a current and useful club website

· Building communication calendars and responsibilities

· Using storytelling and member-focused content to encourage involvement

Workshop 4: Fly Fishers International Resources for Clubs and Members

Objective: Knowing the mission of FFI and the resources available to clubs and members

Key Topics

· Who and why FFI

· Resources, partnerships, and programs of the FFI

Outcome

· Understanding the range of FFI resources to clubs and members

Fly Casting Skills Development
Facilitator Training

Learn effective strategies for guiding casters through the levels of the Fly Casting Skills Development (FCSD) program—from Foundation to Gold. Instructors will clarify the role and responsibilities of an FCSD facilitator, demonstrate level run-throughs, share practical tips for success, model the difference between light coaching and direct instruction, explain how one might to handle challenging situations, and highlight the critical role of the greeters’ table and the data collection process. Participants will leave with the knowledge and experience to run casters through FCSD levels and excitment host an event at their own club. A hands-on practice on the grass will follow the initial instruction. This workshop is intended for individuals who have achieved Bronze-Gold levels, are CI candidates, or Certified Instructors.
