Continuing Education - A Drill That Guarantees Tight Loops and a Style to Get You There

Event Date: February 07, 2026, 4:00 PM - February 07, 2026, 6:00 PM Export event

This program presents a casting drill that relies on audible and tactile external cues to deliver the tight-loop false casts required on Task 1 of both the CI and MCI tests. We will examine the most efficient casting style for this drill – that of world champion Maxine McCormick – and how it can be easily optimized for this drill and these tight loops. I will also float for your consideration a simple analytical framework for style analysis that compares Maxine’s elbow-forward style to that of, for example, the late Lefty Kreh’s elbow-backward style.
