“as no man is born an artist, so no man is born an angler”

Izaak Walton

Casting is undoubtedly the most important aspect of fly fishing and will ultimately determine whether you catch fish or simply go fishing. Finding the fish and selecting the proper fly are irrelevant if you can’t present the fly to the fish accurately and quickly.

Whether you are fishing for Trout and Smallmouth bass in mountain streams or hunting the saltwater flats for Tarpon, Bonefish and Permit, each require well developed fly casting skills that are rooted in strong fundamentals and perfected with practice.

As a former flats guide in South Biscayne Bay - Upper Keys - Flamingo/Everglades I can help you get prepared for your next saltwater flats trip.  If you're spending the time and money to make the trip you'll have a much better experience if you spend the time to understand what will be required of you once your on the deck of flats boat taking instructions from a guide.

As a Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Casting Instructor I work with novices eager to learn the art and science of fly casting as well as experienced casters who would like to further develop their casting skills.

Each instructional lesson is customized to your specific personal goals and expectations as well as your casting ability.

The ultimate goal of our time together is to leave you with the ability to teach yourself as you continue to practice. This self-discovery is possible by providing you with an understanding of the cause-and-effect relationships that exist in the physics of fly casting. The same physics principles apply to all casting; it is the stylistic aspects of the cast that vary among individuals.

As you apply this new found understanding of these principles you will develop your own casting style. More importantly, you will be able to adjust your casting technique to accommodate your specific angling situations.
